Ghana defender Gideon Mensah has spoken profoundly about how proud he is to wear the colours of French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre.
He made this feeling known in a statement he wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page after the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.
Auxerre finished 11th in the 18 team league standings with 42 points on the back of bagging 11 wins, nine assists and 14 losses.
The 2024-2025 season marked Auxerre’s return to the French top flight division and ended the campaign with a 3-1 loss to league champions Paris Saint-Germain.
“What A Season…Proud to wear these colours, proud to be part of this group, proud to be at AJ Auxerre. A year full of hard work, passion, sweat, and most of all, love for this club” Mensah wrote on his X page.

Mensah played 29 league games and registered an assist in the campaign while featuring prominently for Ghana’s Black Stars in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
