Co-founder of Spintex Knights Basketball Club, Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi, says his club can emulate the achievement of Al-Ahli Tripoli of Libya’s triumph in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The Libyan side beat Petro de Luanda of Angola 88-67 in the final to win the 2025 BAL for its debut title win in the NBA-FIBA Africa continental championship.
Knights is the first Ghana club to compete in the BAL Elite 16 stage but missed out on qualifying to the Conference Stage after losing to the likes of Ahli Tripoli and Dr. Opoku-Antwi believes that Knights can emulate the Libya team’s success via an exclusive interview with Citi Sports.
“The sky is the limit we’ve set for ourselves and Al-Ahli we played them….an I’m not surprised they are where they are. It just writes the story that when we get our acts together, we will be there one day.”

Knights recently hosted ex-Ghanaian-British basketball player Matthew Bryan-Amaning at a training session. Scroll down to watch interview. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
