Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the establishment of a new Recruitment Committee as part of efforts to overhaul the club’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the club revealed that the committee will comprise members from the board, management, and technical team.

While the club did not disclose the names of those appointed, it indicated that the committee has already begun a thorough evaluation process.

The exercise involves assessing the current squad’s performances as well as potential new signings, in alignment with the technical team’s recommendations.

The club further stated that the new recruitment strategy would be data-driven, focusing on strengthening key areas of the team.

Additionally, Hearts announced plans to redefine the roles of some existing players to better align with the club’s long-term objectives.

Players who do not meet the new performance criteria are expected to be released.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will clash with Asante Kotoko on July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium in the President’s Cup.

The Phobians ended a challenging 2024/25 campaign in fourth place on the Ghana Premier League table and exited the MTN FA Cup at the round-of-16 stage, finishing the season without a trophy.
