The second edition of the Thomas Partey Tournament kicked off on Monday at the Tuba AstroTurf in Accra, as the Arsenal and Black Stars midfielder reaffirms his commitment to grassroots football development in Ghana.

This year’s competition features 12 youth teams made up of promising talents from across the country, all vying not just for the ultimate trophy, but also for the rare opportunity to catch the eye of local and international scouts.

Scouts from both Ghana and Europe will be in attendance throughout the four-day event, offering a crucial platform to identify and nurture the next generation of Ghanaian football stars.

Through this initiative, Thomas Partey continues to give back to the football community that helped shape his own professional journey, proving that meaningful impact goes beyond what happens on the pitch.

One of the scouts, Emilio Julian Fernandez Gonzalo from JJ Managers, expressed his delight with the tournament’s organisation, praising the quality of football on display.

He also highlighted the distinctive nature and style of Ghanaian footballers, noting that several players had already caught the attention of the scouts present.

Ghanaian players are always very hard, very intense, with great physicality for this age and when they come to Europe, they are a little higher than the Europeans.

Publicist for Thomas Partey, Samuel Zigah, also reiterated the high level of competitiveness displayed by the teams participating in the second edition of the tournament.

He further noted that the competition has come to stay, adding that the pool of players for this year’s edition has been expanded to help unearth and scout more talent.

First day has been impressive, they first badge played today, the first four games have been competitive, it has been massive.

This is what you want to see on the day when you are bringing scouts from Europe, this is what you want to see.

Mind you the previous edition had eight players leave the country to teams in Spain, Portugal, Greece, who knows this edition might have alot of players travelling out, this is a big and it tells you that the Thomas Partey Tournament has come to say.

The tournament will climax with the final match on Friday, June 13.
