TECNO becomes official global partner for TotalEnergies CAF AFCON 2025 & 2027

Reading Time: 3 mins read

As anticipation builds up for this year’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced AI-driven Technology Brand, TECNO, a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings, as the Official Global Partner for the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON, Morrocco 2025 and also for the 2027 edition to be hosted in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

With a vision to connect and impact young Africans across the continent through technology and Sports, this partnership serves as a platform for TECNO to materialise this dream and empower these young minds with the brand’s “Stop at Nothing” spirit to reach higher heights as they journey through life.

This partnership does not come as a surprise as TECNO and CAF’s last collaboration during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023, where TECNO served as the exclusive smartphone sponsor, ended in a huge success.

This also led to an unprecedented growth in engagement and reach for TECNO and increased their commitment to African football.

CAF General Secretary, Véron Mosengo-Omba announcing this partnership in Nairobi, Kenya, explained that “The impressive growth and success of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations has resulted in several exciting sponsorship agreements being concluded by CAF with African and international partners. The partnership with TECNO will contribute to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, which is the biggest sporting event in Africa, continuing to grow and reach new markets and audiences. On behalf of CAF and its 54 Member Associations, we would like to thank TECNO for investing in African football.”

Expressing excitement for the partnership, Vice President of Transsion Holdings, Benjamin Jiang emphasized: “This renewed partnership is a testament to the deep trust and shared success we have built with CAF. In our previous collaboration, we witnessed how football ignited passion and inspired dreams, and how AI-powered smart technologies became powerful tools to connect and empower millions across Africa.”

He, further added “That is why this partnership goes beyond the game, it stands as a symbol of ambition and a platform where young people can shine, united by an unstoppable spirit of progress. It reflects our shared vision of harnessing AI-driven innovation to shape a brighter future for Africa. This renewed collaboration marks a significant milestone in TECNO’s journey forward.”

With a goal to drive its pan-African commitment, not only through technology but through community development as well, TECNO’s “Dream Field Renovation,” an initiative aimed at promoting healthy living, fostering youth engagement and ensuring access to quality playing fields in underserved communities, will continue to run.

This campaign was launched in collaboration with CAF in 2024 with the focus to renovate 100 football fields across Africa by 2028
