The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, has officially launched a new broadcasting deal with Adesa Productions, aimed at elevating the media profile and visibility of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The announcement was made during a high-profile unveiling ceremony at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, attended by key stakeholders in Ghanaian football.

Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) President John Ansah were among the notable personalities present at the event.

Under this groundbreaking arrangement, Adesa Productions will handle the production and broadcast of Ghana Premier League matches.

The deal guarantees three live games every weekend, giving fans regular access to top-tier domestic football. Furthermore, all 18 league matches each round will be repackaged into highlight shows, ensuring supporters never miss the key moments of each fixture.

Speaking at the launch, key government officials reaffirmed their support for the initiative. Majority Leader in Parliament and MP for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, pledged Parliament’s backing for the GFA’s efforts to boost the local game:

“We will not hesitate to support you as parliamentarians,” he assured.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, also applauded the collaborative efforts that led to the deal, stating:

“Mahama Ayariga makes my work easier as a Sports Minister.”

In a significant development for the league’s financial structure, the GFA confirmed that every club in the 18-team league will receive financial support, regardless of their final position on the league table; a move expected to improve competitiveness and sustainability across board.

The partnership with Adesa Productions marks a turning point in the GFA’s long-term strategy to modernise Ghanaian football and grow its fanbase both locally and internationally.
