Iga Swiatek delivered a flawless performance to win her first Wimbledon title, dismantling Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes.

Playing in her first final at the All England Club, the 24-year-old Pole showed no signs of nerves, becoming the first woman since 1911 to win a Wimbledon final without dropping a single game ;  a rare feat known as a double bagel.

Swiatek, already a five-time Grand Slam champion on clay and hard courts, admitted the Wimbledon dream once felt out of reach.

It seems super surreal. Honestly, I didn’t even dream of winning Wimbledon because it was way too far .

The eighth seed needed just 25 minutes to race through the first set, as Anisimova, the 13th seed, looked overwhelmed from the start. The American committed 28 unforced errors and five double faults in a match she’ll want to forget, despite an impressive run to the final.

Fighting back tears, Anisimova reflected:

It’s been an incredible fortnight for me ; even though I ran out of gas. I wish I could’ve put on a better performance today.

Swiatek has now won all six of her Grand Slam finals, further cementing her place among tennis’s elite  and doing so with a historic touch of ruthlessness on grass.
