Following the presentation, Speaker Bagbin expressed his enthusiasm and optimism for the year ahead
Hon. Sumaila Bagbin speaking at the presentation of the Democracy cup
“We hope and pray that His Excellency will also find time on that day to come to the sports stadium. We are proposing the 5th of September to join us.
It’s a proposal we making so that we will start with the casting raiser. Parliament will play a team of the judiciary as our partners. I for the executive, usually they are so dispensed that I don’t think they can even form a team.
He further throws a challenge at them and how the day will pan out
“I’m challenging them. The judiciary are always working together there. And I know they have a very strong service, the judicial service. And they work together powerfully
and with my strong men and women here, we are sure to give them a run for their money.
Democracy Cup
So we will have the curtain raiser and then there will be the local derby.”
With momentum already building, all eyes now shift to September 5, when the tournament will culminate on the field where democracy and sportsmanship come together at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
