So many talking points highlighted the 2025 Saudi Super Cup semifinal game between Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad as Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr club won the tie 2-1.

In a closely contested game played at the Hong Kong Stadium on Tuesday, August 19, Al-Nassr moved a step closer to secure their first title of the season over their biggest rivals.

Senegal international and former Liverpool winger Sadio Mane scored the game’s first goal in the 10th minute but former Tottenham Hotspurs player Steven Bergwijn equalized in the 16th minute.

Mane got sent off via a straight red card in the 25th minute for an apparent stomp on the midsection of Al-Ittihad goalkeeper Hamed Al-Shanqity

Playing in his first competitive game for Al-Nassr since securing a two year deal in a move that could be worth up to 50 million Euros from Chelsea, Joao Felix scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the 61st minute.

Felix tapped the ball into the net after getting set up unselfishly by Cristiano Ronaldo who was played through on goal by defender Mohammed Simakan via a long pass.
