Ghana and former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has reached an agreement to join Spanish top flight side Villareal.

The 32 year old has completed a medical and signed a two year contract with the Yellow Submarines.

He heads back to Spain where he spent 10 seasons as a player mainly with Atletico Madrid and sparsely with Almeria.

He is a free agent after his contract with Arsenal run out in June after failing to reach an agreement over an extension with the club.

He spent five seasons with the Gunners where he made 167 appearances while scoring 9 goals.

He is set to appear at a Westminster Magistrate court on August 5,2025  after being charged with 5 counts of rape and 1 count of sexual assault.

The allegations have been brought against him by three separate women covering incidents that took place between 2021 and 2022.

Partey through his lawyers has welcomed the opportunity to finally clear his name and denies the charges against him.
