Italy international Federico Chiesa has been left out of Liverpool Football Club’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Champions League.
Chiesa missed out on getting included in Arne Slot’s 22 man squad for the continental championship preliminary stage generating renewed talk about Chiesa’s future at the club.
Chiesa has made three appearances in the 2025-2026 EPL season with all three coming off the bench; he scored in Liverpool’s 4-2 win over AFC Bournemouth.
On the other hand, Rio Ngumoha was included in the squad mere days after scoring the winning goal in Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Newcastle in the English Premier League.
Ngumoha who turned 17 years old three days after scoring the winning goal against Newcastle is considered one of Liverpool’s best prospects.

The English Champions will take on Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Frankfurt, Real Madrid, PSV Eindhoven, Olympique Marseille, Inter Milan and Qarabag in the first phase of this season’s Champions League competition.

The squad of competing teams in the Champions League is subject to be reviewed once the preliminary stage concludes.
