Senior Communications Manager at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Patrick Akoto, has earned an appointment at the governing body of Africa football, CAF.
The sports journalist has been appointed as the Assistant General Coordinator of the 2025 West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The competition which commenced this past weekend, serves as a qualifiers to determine nations to represent the regional block in the upcoming Africa Under-17 Championship.
Since his appointment, former Medeama SC Communications Director Patrick Akoto, has supervised two games at the ongoing tournament.
He supervised the opening game between host nation Cote D’Ivoire and Niger and Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Togo. This is Ghana’s first tournament under recently appointed Under 17 team head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Prior to his appointment at CAF, Akoto served as spokesperson of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and administrative manager of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
