Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, isn’t getting carried away by the success of his club in pre-season as he has described the team as a “work in progress”.
He made these comments after seeing his team beat city rivals Accra Great Olympics 1-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium to win this year’s edition of the Democracy Cup. Hearts lost to Kumasi Asante Kotoko in last year’s edition.
Kwesi Asmah’s goal in the 70th minute proved to be the winner for the Phobians; Asmah was named the Man of the Match but Didi Dramani wasn’t getting carried away with Hearts of Oak’s second pre-season title win ahead of the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League season.
“It’s still early days yet…we are ready to play [the new league campaign] but there is still a lot of work to improve on.”

“We are a developmental team, its [the team] a work in progress so there’s still some areas to still work on and then we become more formidable” Didi Dramani said.

Hearts of Oak take on league debutants Hohoe United in its season opener on Friday, September 12.
