Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele has been named as the winner of the 2025 Ballon D’Or Award after producing a brilliant performance in the 2024-2025 season.
The French player finished ahead of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, PSG’s Vitinha, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Barcelona winger Raphinha.
Dembele received the top prize from football legend Ronaldinho who won the award in 2005 and went on to state that winning the award is a “dream come true” while praising his family particularly his mother for supporting him. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
In a post-ceremony interview, Dembele’s mother, Fatimata Dembele, praised God for her son’s win and added that the win is for all Africa in recognition of her Senegalese ancestry and Dembele’s father’s Malian ancestry.

“Alhamdulillah-All praise and thanks be to God- It’s the Ballon d’Or of all Africa. We are going to take it to Senegal, to everywhere” she said.
