Director of Public Affairs of the University of Development Studies, Abdul-Hayi Moomen, has indicated that students of the institution’s gallant football team believe that it is time for them to be given the chance to play for Ghana’s National Teams.
He said this in an interview on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily after UDS beat Paulista University 2-1 in extra time to win the World University Games Football competition.
In the aftermath of the big win that has got the likes of Sports Minister Kofi Adams and Ghana Football Association (GFA) to congratulate the team, Abdul-Hayi Moomen, relayed the national team ambitions of UDS’ players.
“It’s massive. Some of them (the UDS players) are even beginning to feel that it’s about time the handlers of our various national teams whether from the Under 17 to the Black Stars to pay attention to them as well and to give them the opportunity to prove their worth to the country” Abdul-Hayi Moomen.

The triumphant UDS team is expected to return to Ghana on Sunday, October 4.
