Director of Public Affairs at the University of Development Studies, Abdul-Hayi Moomen, says there’s a world of difference between the facilities in Dalian, China and those in Ghana.
He said this after Ghana’s UDS beat Paulista University of Brazil to win the 2025 World University Games Football Championship in the aforementioned Chinese city.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily after the big triumph, Abdul-Hayi Moomen, relayed the national team ambitions of players in the UDS team and responded to a question about the state of facilities by saying, (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“There is a world of difference between where we trained…even the training facilities here [in China] are far beyond what we have at Baba Yara Sports Stadium and Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.”

“Even the training grounds at academies are far beyond what we have in Ghana to the extent that there were times that we were given indoor facilities.”

“I think that gave as an added advantage plus the fact that the boys remained very tactically disciplined” Abdul-Hayi Moomen said.
