The father of FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal- Mounir Nasraou- has stated that his son’s inability to win this year’s Ballon D’Or is the biggest moral damage that could be meted out to a human being.
His comments come in the wake of Lamine Yamal finishing second in the French Football Magazine’s famous award behind French international winger Ousmane Dembele.
Lamine Yamal, who recently turned 18, ranked eighth in the rankings last season and moved into the top three rankings for this year’s award.
Despite seeing his son win the Kopa Trophy-best young men’s footballer of the year award- for the second year in a row- Mounir Nasraou wasn’t happy with how things turned out.
“I think this is the biggest, I won’t say theft, but moral damage done to a human being because I believe Lamine Yamal is the best player in the world by far, by a huge margin.”

“It’s not because he’s my son but because he’s the best player in the world. I believe there are no rivals. Lamine is Lamine Yamal. Something very strange has happened here. Next year there will be a Spanish Ballon d’Or winner” Mounir Nasraou said to El Chiringuito TV.
