Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has stated that his contract situation with the club won’t have any impact in the upcoming season.

The 2025-2026 NBA season marks LeBron’s 23rd year competing in the world’s greatest basketball league; he has been named as an NBA All Star 21 times.

However, the soon to be 40 year old small forward is in the final year of his contract that pays him $52.6 million; he will be an unrestricted free agent once the season comes to a close.

On the other hand, the Lakers signed Luka Doncic to a three year, $165 million contract extension with many believing the disparity in contracts would affect LeBron’s relationship with the Lakers but LeBron disagreed stating,

“It will have no impact. I’m not worried about contracts at this point in my career. That doesn’t bother me at all. I’m super excited about the challenges and the excitement of our team.”

“Super humbled to even have it, have a contract still and be able to play the game that I love still at this part of my career and take full advantage of it” LeBron James said.
