Chelsea FC owner Todd Boehly’s comments about former Chelsea player Jadon Sancho having a lazy approach to training are untrue according to multiple reports.
Per a publication purportedly from Italian media outlet La Repubblica, Boehly slammed Sancho’s attitude as a major factor in the club’s failed move to sign the English winger for the Blues beyond his loan stay at the club.
Sancho played out the 2024-2025 season with Chelsea on loan from Manchester United and helped the Blues win the UEFA Conference League and a move from Man United to Italian side AS Roma was on the cards before falling through prompting Boehly to allegedly state,
“Last season the player missed several training sessions including a match at the stadium. He spent the night chatting with his girlfriend, slept during the day, and then, whenever he had two days off, he went to Los Angeles to visit his beloved” Boehly.

However, Talk Sports’ Ben Jacobs and football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano have stated that the quotes are fake and Boehly never made such comments.

After competing for Chelsea, Sancho has departed Manchester United for another loan deal but this time to Aston Villa.
All Todd Boehly quotes doing the rounds and supposedly attributed to La Repubblica are completely fake.
