Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is happy with Ghana’s narrow win over Mali though he indicated a bit of concern over missed chances from his team.
Ghana beat Mali 1-0 in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium with Alexander Djiku’s improvised finish in the 49th minute serving as the winner.
The Black Stars had chances on the counter attack to extend its lead late in the second half but missed the opportunities and Otto Addo reflected on those misses in his post-game presser
“We had some chances to finish the game, counters where we maybe could have scored the second goal but we couldn’t take use [advantage] of these situations.

We really fought well…thanks to the defense, they really gave their all and defended well and yeah I’m happy that we won” Otto Addo said.
Ghana stay on top of Group I with 19 points from eight games with Madagascar in second place with 16 points.
