Black Stars set for Asian Tour against Japan & South Korea in Friendlies

Ghana’s Black Stars are set for an exciting Asian tour in November as they edge closer to securing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The team will face two of Asia’s football giants — Japan and South Korea — in what promises to be a thrilling international window filled with top-tier competition and global attention.

The tour kicks off on November 14 in Toyota, Japan, where Ghana will battle the Samurai Blue.

Japan, who have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, are expected to field a strong side, offering the Black Stars a valuable test against one of the most disciplined and technically gifted teams in world football.

Three days later, on November 17, Ghana will travel to Seoul to take on South Korea, another World Cup-bound side renowned for its high-intensity attacking play and tactical organisation.

The fixture will rekindle the rivalry between the two nations, who last met during preparations for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Asian tour forms part of the Ghana Football Association’s strategy to keep the team active and competitive ahead of major tournaments.

It will also allow head coach Otto Addo to assess new players, fine-tune his tactical setup, and strengthen team chemistry against world-class opposition.
