Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have officially announced the transfer of striker Albert Amoah to Libyan side Al-Ahly Benghazi.
The announcement of Amoah’s departure was made mere hours after Kotoko’s humiliating 5-1 loss to Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kotoko lost 6-1 on aggregate to Wydad with the loss spelling Kotoko’s failure to progress to the group stage of the continental championship.
Following the big loss, Kotoko captain Samba Gilbani apologized to fans of the Porcupine Warriors and talked about the need to win the Ghana Premier League title and MTN FA Cup to compensate the fans. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
However, the club’s quest to regain the league title and retain the FA Cup would be without Amoah in the immediate future as he joins the Libyan side after a year and half stay with Kotoko; he transferred to Kotoko from Accra Great Olympics.
