Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams visited Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I side Spintex Knights Basketball Club as the team prepares to represent Ghana again in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Knights have won the ABL title twice in a row and are aiming to make it a third league title consecutive win when the playoffs commence next week.
However, the club is also preparing to compete in the Road to BAL competition with an aim to make it to the main stage of the NBA-backed continental championship next year.
Earlier this year, Spintex Knights made history as the first Ghanaian club to qualify to the Elite 16 stage but missed out on further progressing in the West Division. Al-Ahli Tripoli won the Division title and went on to win the ultimate crown.

During the training session, Sports Minister Kofi Adams spoke with members of the team including team co-owner Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi and encouraged them to give their all in the upcoming tournament.

Yesterday, I visited the @spintexknights as they prepare to represent Ghana on the African stage in the Basketball Africa League (BAL). I’m proud of the discipline and determination they’ve shown a true inspiration to many.
