Brazil midfielder Casemiro says the Selecao’s stunning loss to Japan is unacceptable and has called on the team to handle game details better with the 2026 FIFA World Cup around the corner.

He made these comments in the aftermath of Brazil’s 3-2 loss to Japan in an international friendly game as the South American nation continues to prepare for next year’s World Cup after sealing their qualification earlier this year.

Brazil had a 2-0 lead by the 32nd minute in the first half but collapsed totally in the second half to concede three goals en route to the loss.

In a post-game presser, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti was angered by the circumstances surrounding the loss and expressed concern over his players’ mental toughness. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“It was a blackout from everyone in our side in the second half. This is the highest level, if you fall to sleep in an entire half it can cost you a World Cup, a Copa America, an Olympic medal.”

“It’s just unacceptable and we must learn from it because the World Cup is just a few months ahead of us. We have to take care of the details because they can cost you everything” Casemiro said according to101greatgoals.
