Public Relations Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Samuel Kwagyire, has stated that the club is taking its search for a new head coach seriously.

The club sacked Stephen Frimpong Manso after Gold Stars’ 2-0 loss to Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League while a move for former Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu also fell through. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Samuel Kwagyire talked about the defending Ghana Premier League champions coaching search.

“We need a coach who has the same future business plan with the team so that we can move forward. As defending champions at least we need to do our best and make sure that we either defend the title or we get a good position within the season and that’s what we are looking at” Samuel Kwagyire said.

“Gold Stars have to operate for the foreseeable future and for that reason we need to make sure that we blend the young guys with the experienced guys so that…we have a formidable team that can compete very well here in Ghana and also on the African continent.”
