Veteran center Al Horford says that joining the Golden State Warriors as a free agent was an easy decision considering the club’s success over the past decade.
Horford signed a two year deal with the Warriors that pays him $11.6 million after a brilliant run with the Boston Celtics that climaxed in a title win in the 2023-2024 season.
The Dominican Republic player was one of the latest players signed to the Warriors after Seth Curry signed a one year deal worth $3.6 million to join the club.
Curry unites with older brother Steph Curry who is the leader of the Warriors and according to Horford, joining the team was an easy decision.
“It’s a great opportunity to compete and to win at a high level. When I think about the Warriors, I think about Steph [Curry] and Draymond [Green] and Steve Kerr.”
“It wasn’t an easy decision for me to leave Boston, but if there was the place, that was this one, and it happened and I happened to give this opportunity, so I jumped at it” Horford said at a presser.
Golden State Warriors open their 2025-2026 season against the LA Lakers on October 22.
