Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has stated that the return of midfielder Prince Owusu from Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, will make the team stronger.

Medeama are scheduled to take on FC Samartex on Saturday, October 18 at the TNA Stadium at 15:00 GMT in a big clash that has top ranked Medeama taking on fourth placed Samartex.

Prince Owusu got his call-up to the Black Stars and featured briefly in Ghana’s 5-0 win over Central African Republic as Ghana qualified to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the big clash this weekend, Ibrahim Tanko noted that having Prince Owusu and Emmanuel Owusu return will make his team stronger against the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League Champions.

“He-Prince Owusu- deserved to get the call-up and I think when he went there, he did very well. I think it’s very important.”

“Them coming back is going to make us stronger and I hope that it will show on the pitch [on Saturday]” Ibrahim Tanko said to Medeama media.
