Argentine football star Lionel Messi has signed a contract extension with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami CF.

The new deal keeps Messi with Miami till 2028 in time for Miami’s move to its 25,000 seater stadium Miami Freedom Park that is under construction and is set to be completed in time for the 2026 MLS season.

Since joining Inter Miami from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, Messi has won the Leagues Cup and Supporters Shield; in the 2025 regular season, Messi produced 29 goals and 17 assists in 28 games en route to winning the MLS Golden Boot and the Argentine is excited to keep going at Miami.
