Basketball: Alex Kukula voted as Ghana Basketball Federation President

Ghana Basketball Federation President Alex Kukula

Alex Kukula has been voted as President of the Ghana Basketball Federation replacing Ato Van-Ess; Kukula beat out Ato Van-Ess to the top position in the recently held elections.

The elections which took place during this year’s Congress was held in Sunyani, the capital of the Bono Region.

Kukula served in the immediate past administration as Vice President (Administration) garnered enough support to step up to the President’s office.

Prior to his ascendency, Kukula also served as Director of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) with Ayitey Bulley serving as Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Association and ABL Chairman.

In the wake of the recently elections, Ayitey Bulley was voted as Vice President (Finance and Administration) while Aurora Commodore-Toppar retained her position as Treasurer of the Ghana Basketball Federation.

Under the leadership of Ayitey Bulley and Alex Kukula, the ABL has gained more prominence digital footprint and had reigning champions Spintex Knights twice qualify from the zonal division to compete in the divisional competition of the Basketball Africa League.
