Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer’s injury woes continue to worsen as the English playmaker picked up yet another injury to delay his anticipated return to action.

Palmer has been dealing with a groin injury forcing him to miss six weeks of football but his expected return has been put on hold for a while after Palmer picked up a toe injury.

The former Man City player fractured his toe after jamming it against a door at his home with Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca confirming the injury.

The Italian coach added that the injury will force Palmer to miss games against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League and Arsenal in the English Premier League.

“Unfortunately, he had an accident at home where he hit his toe.”

“It is nothing important, but he won’t be back in the next week. I wake up many times during the night – I hit my head, my legs, my everything – so it can happen” Maresca said according to the BBC.

“I think that his team-mates are better players with Cole playing. I feel much better when Cole is on the pitch, and we all want Cole on the pitch” Maresca added.

Palmer’s last appearance was in Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United on September 20 at Old Trafford.
