Brighton and Hove Albion forward Danny Welbeck has left a potential return to England’s National Men’s Football Team, the Three Lions, up in the air.
The former Manchester United player stated that his focus is on Brighton and enjoying his football when asked about making it to England’s squad for the upcoming international window and potentially the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
34 year old Welbeck last played for England in June, 2018 but his brilliant form has sparked calls for his inclusion in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
In 10 English Premier League games, Welbeck has six goals including scoring in Brighton’s 3-0 win over Leeds United but the veteran player says he isn’t focused on a return to the England national team.
“I just control what I can control – I am enjoying playing my football here at Brighton, my focus is always on Brighton and doing the best that I can.”

“To get the goals is important for me and the team, and to get three points” Welbeck said to Premier League Productions.

England take on Serbia on November 13 and Albania on November 16 in World Cup qualifiers.
