Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito says he was sad and disappointed his team conceded a “stoppable goal” against Young Apostles.

Kotoko beat Young Apostles 2-1 in an outstanding Ghana Premier League game at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to stay unbeaten nine games into the 2025-2026 season.

Hubert Gyau put Kotoko up in the 50th minute with another thunderous strike but the Porcupine Warriors conceded just two minutes later through Richmond Opoku’s header after he was left alone in the penalty box.

Kotoko captain Samba “O’Neil” Gilbani scored in the 97th minute from the penalty spot and despite picking up a win to end back to back draws, Karim Zito wasn’t impressed with the goal his team conceded.

“The equalizing goal was a little bit of a defensive error, it was stoppable.”

“We have stoppable goals, goals that we can stop then we have workable goals that you can’t stop and when you look at the goal scored against us, it was a stoppable goal so I was sad, I wasn’t happy about it” Zito said.
