A passionate Accra Hearts of Oak supporter, Mr Ebenezer Apodei, demonstrated remarkable devotion to his club ahead of their crucial Week Nine Ghana Premier League encounter against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko, which ended in a 1–0 defeat for the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mr Apodei purchased 50 match tickets and 50 Hearts of Oak flags for distribution to loyal fans ahead of Sunday’s much-anticipated Super Clash.

The gesture, he explained, was meant to motivate supporters to turn out in large numbers and cheer the team to victory. Unfortunately, the result did not go in their favour, as Guinean forward Morifing Donzo converted a first-half penalty to hand Kotoko all three points.

The tickets and flags were shared on Peace Power Sports, a popular sports programme hosted by Ernest Brew Smith, whose producers commended Mr Apodei for his generosity and unwavering commitment to the club.

Despite the defeat, Hearts fans turned out in full force, painting the stands in the club’s traditional rainbow colours as they sought to inspire their team to victory and reclaim bragging rights over their fiercest rivals. However, the narrative took a different turn after 90 minutes.

The game ended amid minor chaos, with several Hearts fans expressing frustration over officiating decisions.

The loss marked head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s first defeat in the Ghana Premier League this season — a result that leaves Asante Kotoko as the only unbeaten team in the campaign so far.
