Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has picked up a serious ankle injury and could miss as many as five weeks to recover.

The Morocco international got injured in the final minutes of the first half of PSG’s 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Hakimi was tackled from behind by Bayern’s Luis Diaz in the 47th minute and was forced off the field; Colombian winger Diaz was shown a red card for the tackle.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the Morocco defender is set to be out till mid-December just before the start of the 2025 AFCON.
