Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso believes that his team didn’t create chances and that played a role in the club’s loss to Liverpool.

Liverpool beat Real Madrid 1-0 at Anfield with midfielder Alexis Mac Allister scoring the winner from a free kick that prompted Liverpool head coach Arne Slot to acknowledge the importance of set-pieces. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

On the part of Xabi Alonso, who won the 2005 UEFA Champions League with Liverpool as a player, his team struggled to create chances hence the loss.

“It was [a] really tight, tight game. The momentum, they got the lead and after we tried it was always going to be an intense game.”
