Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah’s international career is still up in the air despite featuring for England’s National Men’s Football Team.
The former Arsenal player who is of Ghanaian descent, is still eligible to play for the Black Stars in the midst of heavy reports linking him to a call up to Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite reports linking him to the Black Stars, Nketiah is yet to commit his international future to the four time African Champions and he fuelled further debate on this subject in an interview with BBC Sport Africa by stating,
“At the moment, I’m just enjoying my football with Crystal Palace – that’s been my main focus. I’m Ghanaian and there’s no denying that.”

“Obviously I’m proud of my roots and where I’ve come from. I’m sure the future will take care of itself and what will be will be.”

Nketiah played for The Three Lions as a substitute in a friendly game against Australia in 2023.

The Black Stars lost 2-0 to Japan in a friendly game and have another friendly game against South Korea on Tuesday, November 18 lined up.
