Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot says Micky Van de Ven’s challenge on Liverpool striker Alexander Isak that injured the Swede was reckless.
Slot delivered the strong description in a press conference as he spoke about Isak’s injury that is set to rule him out of action for at least two months.
The club confirmed that the former Newcastle United player has successfully undergone surgery on a broken fibula and ankle.
Isak picked up the serious injury while attempting a shot that got Liverpool’s opening goal in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspurs.
In his attempt to block Isak’s shot attempt, Van De Ven injured Isak and Slot wasn’t happy with the tackle by stating,

“It’s going to be a long injury, for a couple of months. It’s a big disappointment for him and, as a result, for us. The tackle of Van de Ven – if you make that tackle 10 times – I think 10 times there is a serious chance that a player gets a serious injury.”

Isak is reportedly interested in signing Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo.
