Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga played a starring role in Arsenal’s qualification to the semifinals of the Carabao Cup and is ready to face his former team in the competition.

Arrizabalaga saved Maxence Lacroix’s penalty to give Arsenal a 9-8 win in a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals against Crystal Palace after the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Holders Newcastle United are scheduled to take on Manchester City while Chelsea take on Arsenal in the semifinals that will be played over two legs.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised the composure and delivery of his team in the penalty shootout and Arrizabalaga did same and set his sights on the upcoming game against his former club Chelsea. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“We have a very good group of goalkeepers, we talk between each other and try to be focused on the next penalty, always the next one.”
