Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has submitted the bill for the Sports Fund to development sports disciplines beyond football in the country.

The bill was presented before Parliament for approval consideration by the Sports Minister who added that fund will accelerate the rate of development of sports in the country.

The development comes at a time Ghanaian athletes are set to commence preparations for qualifiers to compete in events such as the Commonwealth Games next year.

Speaking on the floor of Ghana’s Parliament, Kofi Adams reiterated the need for the bill to be passed by stating,

“It’s quite clear that over the years, this house has had challenges to deal with many issues that affect funding in our sports generally. Funding is mostly secured to support just football when indeed when we talk about sports, it goes beyond football” Sports Minister said.
