American tennis player Ben Shelton delivered a strong performance to comeback and score a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 win over Casper Rudd in the fourth round of the 2026 Australian Open and progress to the quarterfinals.
Shelton has since set up a mouthwatering quarterfinal clash against defending champion Jannik Sinner on Wednesday, January 28. Shelton lost to Sinner in last year’s semifinals.
Speaking after recovering to win the tough game against Casper Rudd, Shelton indicated that he is looking forward to correcting mistakes he did last year.
“It’s where I wanted to be, I wanted to be back here. I wanted to give myself another shot, I wanted to improve on some things that I didn’t do as well last year and leave it all out on the court.”
