2026 Australian Open: I will be fighting to go as far as possible- Aryna Sabalenka

Women’s Tennis world number one Aryna Sabalenka has promised to fight to win the 2026 Australian Open title which commences on Sunday, January 18.

Sabalenka said this after winning the Brisbane International for the third time in her career after beating Marta Kostyuk with a 6-4, 6-3 win.

27 year old Belarusian Sabalenka, heads into this year’s Australian Open aiming to win the competition for the third time in four years and ahead of the tournament, Sabalenka has promised to give her all.

“Every day you go out there and prove your level, and I think this week I did it really well. The only thing I know is that I’ll be there [Australian Open], I’ll be fighting.”

“I’ll do my best to go as far as possible and do a little bit better than last year. That’s my focus” Sabalenka said according to the BBC.

In the 2025 Australian Open, Sabalenka lost to American Madison Keys and is aiming to win the 2026 edition to clinch her fifth Grand Slam in her career.
