Liverpool FC captain Virgil Van Dijk has expressed his disappointment over Liverpool’s failure to beat AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League.
The Reds battled back from two goals down to level the game thanks to a brilliant goal via a free kick from Dominik Szoboszlai but suffered a late Amine Adli goal to lose 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium.
Van Dijk scored in the loss just before the end of the first half but had a hand in two goals Liverpool conceded.
After suffering late goals in losses to the likes of Crystal Palace, Liverpool failed to clear their lines on multiple occasions in the lead up to Adli’s scrappy goal that heaps more pressure on Arne Slot.
Speaking after the loss, Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk said that despite the Reds’ search for consistency, it has proven futile stating to Sky Sports,

“I am very disappointed. Last minute of the game is very tough to take, we worked very hard in the second half to get back in the game and to concede that late is disappointing.”

“To concede two goals in a short period is not good at all. The goal for us a half-time was really important for momentum in the second-half. In the end, that throw in cost us.”
