Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that he is sure midfielder Rodri will recapture the form that got him to win the Ballon D’or.
The Spanish player dominated for Man City and Spain in the 2023-2024 season and won the prestigious award ahead of Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr.
However, following his brilliant campaign, Rodri suffered an ACL injury that kept him out of action for several months and has been dealing with recurring setbacks since his return.
Rodri recently got sent off in Man City’s 3-1 loss in the UEFA Champions League to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt but Pep Guardiola believes Rodri will return to his best form.
“I know the reason why we are struggling now. I know 100%. It’s been 11 months. Give him-Rodri- more time.”

“Our standards are so high and I know the reason why we are a little bit inconsistent. I’m pretty sure, yes but that depends on the team as well and not just him” Guardiola said to the club’s media.

Man City rank second and trail league leaders Arsenal by seven points; City take on Wolves on Saturday, January 24.
