Tottenham Hotspurs manager Thomas Frank has disclosed that the club tried everything to sign Ghana international forward Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window.
Semenyo moved from AFC Bournemouth to Manchester City for 65 million pounds and has started strongly at the Etihad Stadium by registering four goal involvements in four games in all competitions.
Man City take on Tottenham in London on Sunday, February 1 in the English Premier League and while addressing concerns regarding the club’s poor performance that has culminated in the club ranking 14th, Thomas Frank talked about how Semenyo almost joined the club.
“The club work relentlessly to try to do the best they can to try to improve the squad. I will go against my rule, hopefully only once, that there’s no doubt it was clear that the club wanted to sign [Antoine] Semenyo.”

“That’s the quality of players we’re looking for to improve the squad. They did everything – I think that’s a clear signal that the Lewis family is very committed” Frank said in a pre-game presser.
