Kumasi Asante Kotoko interim head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has stated that there has been a shift in the level of motivation from the team for its upcoming game against Accra Hearts of Oak.

Kotoko take on arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday, February 15 in the Ghana Premier League Super Clash at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Owusu replaced Abdul Karim Zito earlier this week as head coach of Kotoko following Zito’s resignation from the role after a string of poor results.

Addressing the media ahead of the game, Prince Owusu shared that there will be a difference in the Kotoko team that shows up on Sunday and the team that has showed up in recent weeks.

“It’s going to be the same (Kotoko), just the motivation has changed.”

“The boys have raised their levels, they know what happened was not good and they don’t want it to happen again so the difference you are going to see is how bad they want it” Prince Owusu said.

Kotoko rank fifth in the league while Hearts rank fourth ahead of the big game.
