Liverpool FC manager Arne Slot, in a presser, shared that it was a very important win his team got over Sunderland after suffering a stinging loss to Manchester City at Anfield.
At Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, the Reds beat the home side 1-0 with Mohamed Salah assisting Virgil Van Dijk’s goal that proved to be the winner.
Salah’s assist moved him level with legend Steven Gerrard on 92 assists in a game that had midfielder Wataru Endo suffer a serious injury.
Speaking to the BBC after the close game, Slot said the overall performance of his team was good after a quick turnaround by stating,
“I think we dug deep, after only two days of rest. Then going to a difficult away game. We showed again how well we can play on the ball. We created so many opportunities today.”

“The character we have shown throughout the whole game was very good and that is why we leave this place with a 1-0 win. The overall performance in terms of work rate was really good.”
