Morocco’s National Men’s Football Team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi says he is fully committed to advancing the course of the national team.

He said this after getting confirmed as the head coach of the Atlas Lions; he replaced Walid Regragui who announced his departure on Thursday, March 5.

Regragui led Morocco to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semifinals becoming the first African nation to reach the elite stage.

He quit from the role after leading the North African nation to the 2026 World Cup where Morocco have been drawn in Group C with Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.

Belgium-born Ouahbi led Morocco to win the Under-20 FIFA World Cup in 2025 having worked extensively with Belgian side Anderlecht including serving as assistant with the first team.

“We want to be ambitious. Fear no one, no matter the opponent, and play to win the matches” Ouahbi said at his introductory presser.
