Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara has been called up to Guinea’s National Men’s Football Team ahead of the international window.

This comes on the back of Camara’s Man of the Match Award winning performance in Kotoko’s frustrating goalless draw with Vision FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Guinea is set to play against Togo and Benin on March 27 and 31 respectively in international friendly games; Guinea failed to qualify to compete in the recently concluded 2025 AFCON.

The West African nation ranks 80th in the world from the last FIFA world rankings released and the Syli Nationals are preparing for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers later this year.

Camara has come under heavy fire for his performances this season particularly for his poor showing in games against Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup and arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

Despite registering 12 clean sheets in 19 games while conceding 13 goals, Camara has been heavily criticized after a slew of howlers.

Camara’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2025-2026 season; he is in line to compete in Kotoko’s upcoming league tie against Karela United on Sunday, March 8.
