Arsenal midfielder Eberechi Eze says the Gunners close win over Mansfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup was achieved in a very difficult environment.

The Gunners beat the League One side 2-1 with Eze scoring the winner in the second half off a strong strike from just inside the penalty box.

Mansfield hosted the game on a far less quality pitch than what the English Premier League side is used to but Mikel Arteta’s heavily rotated squad held on for the win to progress to the next round.

“Happy to score. I had the space and the opportunity to shoot. So I took it. It was a difficult environment to play in. But we did what we had to do and we are through to next round which is the important thing.”

“We are working hard and we are focusing on the process. Otherwise, we won’t get there. We are working hard and doing everything we can to win all the silverware on offer” Eze said to the club’s media after the win.
