The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) has hosted the fourth edition of its Corporate Sports Jamboree, reinforcing its commitment to promoting networking, collaboration, and healthy living among member companies.

The event attracted 700 employees and their families from 30 UKGCC member companies for a vibrant day of sporting activities and corporate networking.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director of UKGCC, Adjoba Kyiamah, remarked that the UKGCC is dedicated to creating platforms that enable businesses to connect, collaborate, and grow.  She emphasised that networking remains one of the key pillars of the UKGCC’s operations.

According to her, the Corporate Sports Jamboree was designed not only to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among employees but also to strengthen professional relationships in a relaxed and engaging environment.

“This is a captive audience for companies to showcase their products and services and connect with potential clients,” the Executive Director of UKGCC noted, encouraging prospective businesses to join the UKGCC to benefit from such initiatives.

The sporting fiesta featured a variety of activities, including football, races (50m track, lime and spoon, and sack), tug-of-war, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, and board games.  The event began with an energetic warm-up and aerobics session, setting the tone for the competitive yet friendly contests that followed.

Congratulating participants and winners, Adjoba Kyiamah praised all companies and individuals whose participation contributed to the success of the event. “To those who did not win medals today, better luck next time. Join us again next year and aim for the trophies,” she said.

Commenting on their support, Phyllis Woode-Nartey, Head, Group Communications & Synergies at Enterprise Group PLC, remarked, “We believe strong businesses are built by healthy, motivated people and meaningful relationships. Supporting the UKGCC Corporate Sports Jamboree allows us to celebrate teamwork, wellness, and the spirit of collaboration within Ghana’s corporate community.”

“Partnering with the UKGCC on initiatives like this reinforces our shared vision of bringing businesses together in ways that inspire connection and growth.”

As lead sponsors of the event, Enterprise Group received premium brand visibility and the opportunity to showcase their services to an engaged audience, the largest in the Corporate Sports Jamboree’s history.

The Corporate Sports Jamboree has become one of UKGCC’s flagship events, fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and stronger business ties within Ghana’s corporate community.

Mr. Kwawukumey added that initiatives such as the Corporate Sports Jamboree provide an excellent opportunity for employees to stay active while building team spirit and networking with employees of other corporate organisations.  He commended UKGCC for consistently organising the event for its members and urged everyone to prioritise exercise, stressing that “health is wealth.”

The 4th UKGCC Corporate Sports Jamboree once again demonstrated how sports can serve as a powerful tool for strengthening corporate relationships while promoting wellness in the workplace.
